Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is there a cost to becoming a donor?  No.

2. Is there any obligation if I sign up on your mailing list?  No.

3. Will any o f my contact information be shared?  No.

4. Will I be bombarded by solicitations?  No, but everybody's definition of "bombarded" is different.  Emails will be sent normally no more frequenmtly than once or twice a month.  Also, at any time, you may unsubscribe to specific email by adjusting your member setting.

5. How do I know you won't just sell the stuff I give you?  You have my word on it.  I will occasionally throw something away because it cannot be made usable, but everything sent in will be sorted, packaged and sent to a trained BMET in another country, usually a third world country where I know the people.  Right now, I know of huge needs in Rwanda, Honduras and Guatemala.

6. Can I claim tax deductions for my donation?  That is between you and your accountant.  But the official recipient of these donations if the HTMA-SC, which is registered withthe IRS as a 501 c(3) tax exempt organization under the name of South Carolina Biomedical Association, Inc.

7. What if I have some things I wan to donate that are not on your list?  Send 'em on!  The list is by no means complete,  It is just intended to get your mind working about the types of items that are needed.

8.  Can I send money? Yes.  It costs a lot to ship this stuff overseas.  I beg and borrow all I can, but anything is of help.
